Basic Rules

 

Teams:

1. A team will consist of six (6) players and belong to a club that is situated north of King Street in Caledon.

2. A fixture will consist of three (3) matches.

3. Format will be – Men’s, Mixed I and Mixed II.

4. A player may play for only one club.

5. Each team will play ‘home/away’ Thursday at 9:30am.

 

Matches:

1. Each match will consist of the best of three (3) sets.

2. A twelve (12) point tie-breaker will be played at 6-6.

3. A twelve (12) point tie-breaker can be played in lieu of the third set if all four players agree.

4. One (1) point will be awarded for each set won.

5. One (1) point will be awarded for each match won.

6. The default rule will be 20 minutes.

7. A ‘no show’ team will default three (3) points.

8. Visiting team has choice of serve, receive, side or decline.

9. Each player can only play once.  No substitutions once play has commenced.

 

Supply:

1. Home team will supply starting line up to visiting team.

2. Home team will supply tennis balls (New Balls).

3. Home team will supply suitable refreshments.

4. In the event of rain, all scores will stand.

5. The uncompleted matches will be arranged as soon as possible.
